【摘要】From 264BC to 146BC, the Punic Wars broke out between Rome and Carthage, which lasted more than one hundred years in the ancient word history. There were three wars, this emphasizes the great influence of the Punic Wars on Roman provincial government, culture, economy, military and Romans concept. Sicily having become the first Roman province, Romans began to establish provincial administration in their expansion. As a model of ruling overseas, the Sicilian province provided important experience for Romans who would carry out their large-scale expanding and rule in the Mediterranean world. The article also discusses how the Punic Wars made the Roman civilization closely blend with Hellenism, thus creating the brilliant Greco-Roman culture, and having betokened that Roman simple, unsophisticated, hardworking and thrifty social atmosphere had suffered the strong shock in the meantime. Furthermore it discusses that the slavery system of the economy was rapidly developing in Rome after the Second Punic War; and that meanwhile, Roman commanders?function and power in office were often lengthened and grew more important in Republic government. As the victor of the Punic Wars, Rome became the ruler of the whole Mediterranean area in 146 BC.
